driven to reduce fuel production

Lower Emission Fuels Technology - LĒF

The move to a lower emission future requires multiple solutions that can be implemented at scale to address some of the highest emitting sectors in the economy.

The transportation sector is crucial to the progress of society, enabling access to food and water, education and more. This sector accounts for about 25 percent of the global energy related CO2 emissions.

Fuel producers are asking for a lower emission fuel process technology that is scalable and can provide high product yield with the potential for lower operating cost. With LĒF Technology, ExxonMobil is offering a number of process technology and catalyst solutions to help meet these needs.
  • Renewable distillate process technology

    Renewable Distillate Catalyst

ExxonMobil’s proprietary dewaxing suite provides industry leading yields while meeting cold-flow specifications for renewable diesel.

*Versus the incumbent fossil fuels based solutions.
  • Methanol to gasoline (MTG)

Our methanol-to-gasoline synthesis converts renewable methanol to renewable gasoline and can reduce logistical complexity. The liquid product has very low sulphur and can be used “as is” or blended.

  • Renewable Fuels: EMRD™ a proprietary process technology, and BIDW™, a proprietary bio-dewaxing catalyst, produce renewable diesel from bio-feedstocks.

    Renewable Distillate Process Technology

Our proprietary process technology converts bio-feedstocks into diesel and can produce jet fuel as a secondary product when fractionation is included.
